The macOS and Linux versions are real, planned work — the desktop app is being moved onto a cross-platform foundation so every system gets the same program, not a cut-down port. We would rather say "coming soon" than hand you something half-built.

First run

On your screen in four steps.

  1. Unzip the download anywhere you like — Documents, Desktop, a USB stick. There is no installer and nothing touches the rest of your system.
  2. Open AddtivityFinance.exe. Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" screen the first time — early-access builds are not yet code-signed, so Windows plays it safe with any new download. Click More info, then Run anyway. If you want certainty first, compare the file against the SHA-256 checksum published beside the download link.
  3. Sign in, or don't. Create an Addtivity Command account with Google or email to sync your preferences between devices — or skip it entirely and use the app offline. Your financial records stay on your machine either way.
  4. Start adding activity. Scan a receipt, drop in a statement, or just type a purchase. Your data lives in %AppData%\Addtivity\Finance — back that folder up and it all comes with you.

What it needs, what it doesn't.

System requirements

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with about 400 MB of free space. The .NET runtime is bundled — nothing extra to install.

Works offline

The internet is only used for the things that need it — signing in, syncing preferences, and a one-time language download for the first receipt scan. The books themselves never need a connection.

Leaves no trace behind

Uninstalling is deleting the folder. Your records live separately in %AppData%\Addtivity\Finance and are yours to keep or delete.

The full story of what stays on your machine and what doesn't is in the privacy policy — written in plain language, because you should not need a lawyer to find out where your receipts are.
